General Information
As a SRG (Senior Resource Group) community, Cypress at Golden Gate fulfills their reputation of offering higher end options for residents and families. In speaking with the staff, we were immediately impressed by the true commitment to establishing an engaging community based atmosphere among staff and residents. For example, the Cypress team conducts resident focus groups to gather feedback and recommendations surrounding life at the community including food options, activities and events.
Being an urban based community, Cypress at Golden Gate tends to be a cosmopolitan atmosphere with residents from a variety of backgrounds, native languages and ethnicities. The building is a large brick structure, formerly a Shriner’s hospital, with a newer terrace addition. With this historical element to the building it is really not cookie cutter in terms of apartments, there is quite a bit of diversity. In fact, there are 44 different types of apartments in the building so it is definitely worth a tour to get a sense for the right fit. One thing we will call out is that Cypress did not seem to have as wide a range of food options as we have found at other communities in the area. This is something to consider and explore further upon a visit.
In summary, Cypress at Golden Gate offers quality care in a dynamic, urban environment. This community would likely be a great choice for residents seeking an active, cultured atmosphere with the checkbook to support.
