Rancho Vista offers private and shared suites, common areas, signature enrichment programs. For Independent Living, there is no upkeep of the home necessary, and access to scheduled activities every day. For Assisted Living, there is a fully trained staff to assist with dressing, bathing, and medication management on a daily basis. Residents may choose their own schedules. The Memory Care wing of the community offers a unique program in that it tailors the experience of each resident based on the individual’s life history, cultural heritage, abilities, and interests. The dining room, entrance lobby and main areas were recently remodeled.

General Information

Rancho Vista is a property of the Elmcroft group that offers services in all of the following: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. It is a large assisted living community on a busy street of Vista, California. Road noise does not seem to be a problem. Its capacity is a total of 90 residents for the Independent Living and Assisted Living sections of the community. The property has both a Memory Care unit and a Skilled Nursing facility, which is directly adjacent to the Assisted Living building.  

This “multi-level retirement community” was designed to offer a tidy, home-like environment to seniors of all ages. Every new resident will undergo a care assessment upon move-in and once more after 30 days to validate the initial resident plan. The community has modern updates with plenty of lighting. Its residents have the option to enjoy restaurant-style dining with table settings.

Rancho Vista also offers various resident enrichment programs, such as its “Vitality Club” and “Second Wind Dreams” programs. The Vitality Club encourages a healthy, vibrant life with new hobbies, while its Second Wind Dreams program aims to fulfill the lifelong dreams of its residents.

Community Details

Dining: The kitchen staff at Rancho Vista offers its residents up to three fresh meals per day in a restaurant-style dining room with the option of a salad bar or buffet. Rancho Vista also offers a program called “Port of Call,” which brings various dishes from an international cuisine. For example, they might serve a French dinner. But, residents may choose a more traditional meal option on the same night. Residents may dine when they are hungry. In other words, there are no strict meal times. Snacks are available all day.

Care Services/Staffing: As you might expect of an Elmcroft property, Rancho Vista offers friendly, expert-level medical care and extensive therapy in a safe and secure building with easy access for visitors. As a side note, residents in senior living will not stay long in Skilled Nursing (i.e., 2-3 weeks). Like any other top-tiered senior community, Rancho Vista prides itself on offering a high level of care with activities of daily living (e.g., dressing, bathing, and medication management) and supplementary enrichment programs to help residents live life to the fullest.

Community Amenities & Activities

Building Features: The main entry of Rancho Vista looks like it was recently renovated. As you take a short walk through the front lobby to the dining room, there are elegantly set dinner tables with dishes, silverware, napkins and menus. Residents can take another short stroll to the library and activity rooms to start the day or enjoy a few moments of solitude. The suites in all sections of the community have comfortable, natural lighting. However, each of the rooms feature older wooden closets, dated fixtures and kitchenettes. On the other hand, there were renovations to the Skilled Nursing area but the bedrooms are not updated.

For its Independent Living residents, Rancho Vista features both 1 and 2 bedroom villas with large, complete kitchens, and washers and dryers (if applicable). As you might expect, the apartments (and kitchens) in the Assisted Living side of the community decrease in size.

Rancho Vista is located fairly close to the 78 freeway, retails shops, grocery stores and restaurants. For reference, Rancho Vista is approximately 40 miles north of the San Diego International Airport. With its central location, residents have access to Carlsbad and Oceanside beaches as they’re only 10-15 miles away. For residents who would like to invite family members with children, LEGOLAND, San Diego Zoo Safari Park and the San Diego Children’s Museum are only a 15-20 minutes from the community.

A comprehensive assessment is conducted upon admission by the nursing staff, which uncovers the appropriate level of care. After 30 days, there is an additional evaluation to check progress and validate the original assessment. From then on, the staff routinely monitors each resident and can notice any change of condition immediately.
